Its Relational
Therapy for Relationships

Samantha (Samm) English, founder of Its Relational Therapy for Relationships, created this foundation hoping to create a place where together we can gently shift from internalizing problems or focusing on treatment, and we can lean into supporting, restoring, and healing. A foundation that invites exploration within the things that are easy to miss.
Samm holds a diploma in Social Service Work, an Honours Bachelor Degree in Counselling Psychology, and post-graduate certification in Couples and Family Therapy. She is passionately committed to an always learning --- always growing model, with extended training in evidence-based approaches. Presently, in her final year of a master’s degree with additional trainings on the horizon, she aims to support the work that happens together, both inside and outside of the therapy room.

What to Expect in Our Work Together
In our work together, we use Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy to gently separate you from the problems you are experiencing, recognizing that challenges are something you face and not who you are. In addition, we explore the patterns and cycles that exist within relationships, helping to slow down and attend to the way we respond and receive information, how feelings guide us in our positions, and how cycles of connection can turn into cycles of disconnection.
In this approach, it invites you to explore what is being said both inside your mind and in the world around you. It recognizes that people are complex and multi-storied. Rather than reducing you and your relationships to a single narrative, it creates space to notice, question, and reshape the stories that influence how you see yourself, your relationships, and the world. While regaining authorship of the cycles your relationships are in, finding balance, connection, and direction.
